37-YEAR-OLD FORMER DOVER MAN CONVICTED FOR THE 2021 KIDNAPPING AND SEXUAL ASSAULT OF EX-GIRLFRIEND

MORRISTOWN, NJ.- On Friday, February 2, 2024, a Jury sitting in Morris County, New Jersey, Convicted a 37-Year-Old Former Dover, New Jersey man for The September 2021, Kidnapping and Multiple Sexual Assaults of his Ex-Girlfriend, that occurred in his Motor Vehicle in Randolph, Victory Gardens, and Dover.

According to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, on Friday, The Jury found Jessie Meneses, 37, Guilty of Two Counts of First Degree Kidnapping; Three Counts of First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; Three Counts of Second Degree Sexual Assault; Three Counts of Third Degree Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact; Three Counts of Fourth Degree Criminal Sexual Contact; One Count of Third Degree Terroristic Threats; One Count of Third Degree Conspiracy to Commit Witness Tampering; and Third Degree Witness Tampering.
Mr. Meneses has been Scheduled for Sentencing on March 8, 2024, before Morris County Superior Court Judge Stephen J. Taylor, at which time Mr. Meneses could Face a New Jersey State Prison Term of 25 Years up to Life.
The Conviction stems from an incident that occurred on September 5, 2021, where Mr. Meneses Sexually Assaulted his Ex-Girlfriend in his Vehicle in Randolph, New Jersey. Additionally, Meneses then restrained and transported her from Randolph through Victory Gardens, New Jersey, ultimately ending up in Dover, New Jersey where she was able to Escape and Contact The Police. Members of The Dover and Randolph Police Departments and The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes and Child Endangerment Unit investigated the incident following the disclosure from the Victim. On or between April 1, 2022, through October 5, 2022, Meneses communicated with the Family Members of The Victim to have her Change her Version of The Events or Withdraw the Criminal Charges.
