MANLIUS NEW YORK WOMAN AND BALDWINSVILLE NEW YORK MAN  WERE CHARGED FOR THE JANUARY 20 2024 MURDER OF A MAN

   “Melissa Tikarem & Howard Griswold Have Both Been Charged In Connection With The Robbery & Murder Of Christian Hunter Of Atlantic City.”

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ.- On Wednesday, February 14, 2024, Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds reported, that Howard Griswold, 24, of Baldwinsville, New York, and Melissa Tikarem, 28, of Manlius, New York, were both Taken into Custody in Syracuse, New York, in connection with the January 20, 2024, Robbery and Murder of Christian Hunter, 32 of Atlantic City, New Jersey.

     Ms. Tikarem was Arrested on Monday, January 29, 2024, and Mr. Griswold was Arrested on Friday, February 9, 2024. Both Tikarem and Griswold have been Charged with First Degree Murder; First Degree Robbery and Weapons Offenses. Mr. Griswold is currently being Detained in The Onondaga County Jail, Pending Extradition back to New Jersey. The current Custody Status of Ms. Tikarem was not available at this time.

     The Charges stem from an investigation that began on Saturday, January 20, 2024, when shortly before 7:30 p.m., Members of The Atlantic City Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter Activation for Multiple Gunshots in the area of 119 North Virginia Avenue in Atlantic City. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, identified as Christian Hunter, 32, of Atlantic City Unresponsive on the Sidewalk from Multiple Gunshot Wounds. Mr. Hunter was immediately transported to The AtlantiCare Medical Center, City Division, where he was pronounced deceased.

     A Subsequent Autopsy by The New Jersey South Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the Cause of Death was a Gunshot Wound and The Manner of Death was Homicide.

     A Swift-Moving Investigation by Members of The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Detectives of The Atlantic City Police Department were able to Identify Griswold and Tikarem as Suspects and The Individuals Responsible for The Death of Mr. Hunter.

     Both Griswold and Tikarem were Tracked to Syracuse, New York, and Taken into Custody by Detectives of The Atlantic County Major Crimes Unit with the assistance of The Syracuse Police Department, and The Syracuse FBI Field Office.
