
32-YEAR-OLD PARAMUS MAN WAS CHARGED LAST NIGHT FOR THE TUESDAY FATAL STABBING OF HIS FATHER

PARAMUS, NJ.- Bergen County Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding what led to a 32-Year-Old Paramus man to Fatally Stab his 61-Year-Old Father on Wednesday whose Body was Discovered Late Yesterday Afternoon in the Basement of Bruce Drive Home in a quiet Paramus, New Jersey Neighborhood.
According to Bergen County Mark Musella, on Friday, February 16, 2024, shortly after 5:30 p.m., Members of The Paramus Police Department responded to a Bruce Drive Residence in Paramus after receiving a report of a Possible Homicide. Upon arrival, Police Officers found the Body of 61-Year-Old Manuel V. Thomas, Dead in the Basement of his Home from Multiple Stab Wounds. Mr Thomas was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.
The initial investigation by Detectives of The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and The Paramus Police Department quickly determined that Mr. Thomas’ Son, 32-Year-Old Melvin Thomas of Paramus, New Jersey was responsible for The Stabbing Death of his Father Two Days Earlier.
Shortly thereafter Melvin Thomas was Taken into Custody and Formally Charged with One Count of First Degree Murder; Second Degree Desecration of Human Remains; Second Degree Hindering Apprehension; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
Melvin Thomas was Processed on The Charges and was Remanded to The Bergen County Jail pending Future Court Proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court.
