Monday Teaneck, New Jersey Apartment Fire Leaves Two Dead And One In Critical Condition

EARLY MONDAY MORNING FATAL APARTMENT FIRE REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION

     “Bergen County Authorities Have Ruled Monday Morning’s Apartment Fire In Teaneck Suspicious, Authorities Continue To Investigate.”

TEANECK, NJ.- Bergen County Authorities are continuing their investigation into an Early Monday Morning Apartment Fire in Teaneck, New Jersey that Killed Two People and Left another Person in Critical Condition from Severe Burns.

     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Monday, February 19, 2024, at 12:30 a.m., The Teaneck Police Department received a 911 Emergency Call reporting a Fire at 850 Palisade Avenue in Teaneck. Members of The Teaneck Police Department responded to the location with The Teaneck Fire Department and neighboring Englewood and Hackensack Fire Departments. During Fire Suppression, Firefighters located and rescued Three Adults who were Trapped in The Basement Apartment of the residence.

     35-Year-Old Ranjodh Singh IV, 47-Year-Old Manjit Kaur, and an Unidentified Woman were all transported to Hackensack University Medical Center. Shortly after arriving at Hackensack University Medical Center, Manjit Kaur and the Unidentified Woman were transferred to Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. Tragically on Monday Evening, February 19, 2024, Ranjodh Singh IV Died from his Injuries Sustained in the fire. On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, the Unidentified Woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. Manjit Kaur remains Hospitalized in Critical Condition from Severe Burns.

     The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Arson Task Force, Major Crimes Unit, and The Teaneck Police Department launched an investigation and determined that The Cause and Origin of The Fire is Suspicious. Bergen County Authorities are not releasing any further details pending further investigation which remains ongoing.
