MOUNT HOLLY, NJ.- On Thursday, March 8, 2024, a 27-Year-Old Mount Laurel, New Jersey woman was Sentenced to 30 Years in New Jersey State Prison for The September 2019 Stabbing Death of her Mother 56-Year-Old Denise DeNapoli inside their Ramblewood Village Apartment.

According to Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw, on Thursday Marisa Rivera appeared before the Honorable Terrence R. In January Rivera was Convicted of First Degree Murder; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Judge Cook Ordered that Rivera must Serve the Entire 30-Years of her Sentence.

The Conviction and Sentence stem from an Investigation that began on September 6, 2019, when Members of The Mount Laurel Police Department responded to The Ramblewood Village Apartments to conduct a Welfare Check on Denise DeNapoli after Co-Workers Failed to hear from DeNapoli, who had been Scheduled to work from home that day. When Police Officers entered the apartment they found the Body of Ms. DeNapoli Dead inside the apartment.

Rivera was located several hours later at a Route 73 Motel and was Taken into Custody without incident by Mount Laurel Police Officers.

An autopsy performed by the Burlington County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that DeNapoli’sDeath was due to Multiple Stab Wounds. Testimony at Trial indicated that the relationship between Rivera and her Mother had been steadily deteriorating.
