OCEAN COUNTY MAJOR CRIME UNIT AND ARSON SQUAD INVESTIGATING YESTERDAY’S STRUCTURE FIRE
“Thursday Afternoon Structure Fire In Lakewood Township Remains Under Active Investigation.”

LAKEWOOD, NJ.- Ocean County Authorities are continuing their investigation into Thursday Afternoon’s Fire that Damaged the Second Floor and Stairway of a Prospect Street Structure.
According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Members of The Lakewood Township Police Department and The Lakewood Township Fire Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a Structure Fire on Prospect Street in The Township.
Upon arrival, First Responders observed Fires on The Stairwell and on The Second Floor. Firefighters were able to Extinguish the Fire shortly after arrival.
The investigation remains active and ongoing and is currently being investigated by The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit Arson Squad, The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, The Lakewood Township Police Department, and The Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office.
