67-YEAR-OLD MAN AND A 59-YEAR-OLD MAN HAVE BEEN CHARGED WITH SEXUALLY ASSAULTING A TEEN

NEW MILFORD, NJ.- On Friday, a 67-Year-Old Englewood, New Jersey man and a 59-Year-Old River Edge, New Jersey man were Taken into Custody and Formally Charged with Allegedly Sexually Assaulting a Teen and Narcotics Offenses in New Milford, New Jersey.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Friday, April 5, 2024, The New Milford Police Department contacted The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit after receiving a report of The Alleged Sexual Assault of a Juvenile.
An investigation was launched, after interviewing witnesses including the Juvenile Victim, Detectives of The Bergen County Special Victims Unit and The New Milford Police Department determined that Eliezer Kopelowitz, 67, of Englewood, New Jersey, and Wayne Bambling, 59, of River Edge, New Jersey Sexually Assaulted a Juvenile between the Ages of Thirteen and Seventeen in New Milford, New Jersey. At the time of his Arrest Kopelowitz was found to be in Possession of GHB, a Hallucinogenic and Sexual Arousal Substance and Drug Paraphernalia.
Accordingly, on Friday, April 5, 2024, Mr. Kopelowitz was Formally Charged with Second Degree Sexual Assault; Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; Third Degree Possession of Gamma Hydroxybutyrate “GHB”; and a Disorderly Person Offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Kopelowitz was Arrested in New Milford, New Jersey, and was Processed on The Charges and Remanded to The Bergen County Jail pending Future Court Proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
Also on Friday, April 5, 2024, Bambling was Taken into Custody in New Milford, New Jersey, and Formally Charged with Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and Fourth Degree Criminal Sexual Contact. Bambling was Processed on The Charges and was Remanded to The Bergen County Jail pending Future Court Proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court.
