ATLANTIC CITY MAYOR MARTY SMALL AND WIFE WERE CHARGED ON MONDAY FOR ABUSING THEIR DAUGHTER

     “Marty Small & La’Quetta Were Charged Monday With Multiple Offenses In Connection With Allegedly Abusing Their 16-Year-Old Daughter.”

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ.- Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Sr. and his Wife La’Quetta Smalls were Taken into Custody Monday by Detectives of The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and Charged in connection with Allegedly Physically and Emotionally Abusing their 16-Year-Old Daughter in December 2023 and January 2024.

     Marty Smalls, Sr., 50, and his Wife La’Quetta Small, 47, of Atlantic City, New Jersey were both Formally Charged Second Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Marty Small, Sr. was Additionally Charged with Third Degree Terroristic Threats; Third Degree Aggravated Assault; and a Disorderly Person Offense of Simple Assault. La’Quetta Small was Additionally Charged with Three Counts of a Disorderly Person Offense of Simple Assault.

     The Smalls were Processed on The Charges and were Released on a Summons Complaint pending Future Court Proceedings in Atlantic County Superior Court in Mays Landing, New Jersey. 

     It has been alleged that between December 2023 and January 2024, the Smalls Physically and Emotionally Abused their Daughter on Multiple Occasions when their Daughter was 15-Years-Old and then after she turned 16-Year-Old, according to The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

     Authorities reported, that during one incident, Mayor Small, Sr. is alleged to have Struck his Daughter Multiple Times in the Head with a Broom causing her to lose consciousness. Another incident alleged that Mayor Small, Sr., during a Verbal Altercation with his Daughter threatened to hurt her by “Earth Slamming” her down the stairs, Grabbing her Head, Throwing her to the Ground, and Smacking the Hair Weave off her Head. Another incident involved Mayor Small, Sr. Punching his Daughter Repeatedly in her Legs causing Bruising.

     It has been alleged that Mrs. Small, during one incident, Punched her Daughter Multiple Times on her Chest leaving Bruising. Another incident alleged that Mrs. Small Dragged her Daughter by the Hair and then Struck her with a Belt on her Shoulders leaving marks. Another incident alleged that Mrs. Small Punched her Daughter in the Mouth during an Argument.

     Earlier this month Mayor Small, Sr. held a News Conference in City Hall to say that the Search of his Home in Late March involved “a private family issue,” not a crime.

     Small said at the News Conference that he and his wife have been interacting with State Child Welfare Authorities and have nothing to hide.

“The Rules Of The Court Requires Us To Include A Statement, That States: The Charges Outlined In This Publication Are Merely Accusations And The Defendant And Or Defendants Are Presumed Innocent Unless And Until Proven Guilty Beyond Reasonable Doubt.”
