24-Year-Old Camden City Man Was Killed After Being Gunned Down Friday Afternoon On Princeton Avenue

CAMDEN, NJ.- A 24-year-old Camden City, New Jersey man tragically lost his life yesterday afternoon as gunfire erupted on Princeton Avenue, as gun violence continues to plague the streets of Camden City.

     According to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay, on Friday, May 17, 2024, shortly before 12:30 p.m., members of the Camden County Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter Activation for gunfire on the 800 Block of Princeton Avenue in Camden City.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, identified as Marcus Corbitt, 24 of Camden City, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Corbitt was immediately transported to Cooper University Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 1:15 p.m. 

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as authorities continue to search for the gunman.
