73-Year-Old Moorestown Man Charged In Yesterday’s Strangulation Death Of His Wife

MOORESTOWN, NJ.- Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw reported that a 73-year-old Moorestown, New Jersey man was taken into custody on Sunday and charged with killing his wife inside their East Camden Avenue apartment.
Following being taken into custody, Gerald Slavin, 73, of Moorestown, New Jersey was formally charged with first-degree Murder; and second-degree Aggravated Assault by Strangulation. Slavin was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Burlington County Jail pending future court proceedings in Burlington County Superior Court in Mount Holly, New Jersey.
The investigation unfolded on Sunday, May 19, 2024, shortly before 3:00 p.m., members of the Moorestown Police Department responded to the Moorestown Woods Apartment Homes after receiving a report of an unresponsive woman. Upon arrival, Police Officers found the body of Linda Slavin, 73, deceased in the couple’s bedroom.
The initial investigation quickly determined that Mr. Slavin was responsible for the death of his wife Linda. Slavin was immediately taken into custody without incident. An autopsy performed today by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood determined the cause of death to be strangulation and the manner homicide.
