Camden County Authorities Are Actively Investigating Fatal Shooting Of A 25-Year-Old Woodlynne, New Jersey Man

CAMDEN, NJ.- A 25-year-old Woodlynne, New Jersey man, who was shot Monday, May 13, 2024, in Camden, New Jersey in the late afternoon tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Cooper University Hospital.

     According to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay, on Monday, May 13, 2024, shortly before 6:00 p.m., members of the Camden County Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter Activation on the 700 Block on Ferry Avenue in the City of Camden.

     Shortly after Police Officers arrived on the scene, Camden County Sheriff’s Officers who were detailed to Cooper University Hospital were advised that had walked into the hospital seeking treatment for a serious gunshot wound. The man was later identified as Shyiem Davis, 25, of Woodlynne, New Jersey.

     Mr. Davis remained at the hospital in critical condition until Friday, May 17, 2024, when he lost his battle to stay alive and was pronounced deceased at 3:37 p.m.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made, as authorities continue their search for the gunman.
