Former GOP Primary Candidate Nikki Haley Announced Yesterday She Will Be Voting For Trump This November

WASHINGTON, DC.-  On Wednesday, former GOP Primary Candidate Nikki Haley said she would be voting for Donald Trump in the 2024 general election, in a show of support for Trump which will unite the republican party, despite their contentious rivalry during the primary calendar.

“I will be voting for Trump,” Trump’s former U.N. Ambassador, said at a speaking event at the Hudson Institute, yesterday.

Haley also made it clear that she feels that Trump has work to do to win over voters who supported her during the course of the Republican primary campaign, and who continue to cast votes for her in ongoing state primary contests.

“Having said that, I stand by my suspension speech,” Haley continued. “Trump would be smart to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me and not assume that they’re just going to be with him. And I genuinely hope he does that.”

Yesterday’s comments in her first public speech since she officially dropped out of the primary race are just another signal of the GOP’s complete support behind Trump, even from those who had said he was a threat in the past.

Haley suspended her own run for the GOP nomination just a little over two months ago but during her suspension speech, she failed to immediately endorse Trump, accusing him of causing chaos and disregarding important U.S. alliances across the globe as well as questioning whether Trump at 77 was too old to be president again.

In return, Trump repeatedly mocked Haley, with the nickname “Birdbrain,” and even made remarks about Haley’s husband who was serving overseas in the military. In March, Trump pulled back his attacks are he secured enough delegates to become the presumptive Republican nominee.

Trump’s campaign did not immediately respond to requests for comments on Haley’s announcement.

Meanwhile, the Biden Campaign has been working to win over Haley’s supporters, whom they believe are swing voters. With yesterday’s announcement, Biden may now have little hope of bringing Haley supporters to his side.
