55-Year-Old Oakland Man Charged With Making Terroristic Threats Against Law Enforcement Personnel

OAKLAND, NJ.- Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella reported, on Thursday that a 55-year-old Oakland, New Jersey man was taken into custody and formally charged in connection with making terroristic threats against Police Officers over social media.
On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit launched an investigation into a pattern of social media posts threatening to shoot Police Officers. During the investigation, Detectives were able to trace and track the social media posts to Todd Gentile, 55, of Oakland, New Jersey.
Accordingly, on Thursday, May 23, 2024, Gentile, who was already being detained in the Bergen County Jail on an unrelated matter, was formally charged with third-degree Terroristic Threats. Gentile will remain in the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
