Bergen County Authorities Are Continuing To Investigate Saturday’s Death Of A Preteen

FORT LEE, NJ.- The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Fort Lee Police Department are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding yesterday afternoon’s death of a preteen.

     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at approximately 3:34 p.m., members of the Fort Lee Police Department and Emergency Medical Services Personnel responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an unresponsive child at a Maple Avenue residence in Fort Lee.

     Upon arrival, First Responders located and immediately transported an unresponsive 12-year-old child to an area hospital, where the child was pronounced deceased.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. Bergen County Authorities have not released the cause of the child’s death at this time.
