MANHATTAN, NY.- Late yesterday afternoon, a New York County jury found Former President Trump guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records, making Trump the first former president in the history of the United States to be convicted of a crime.
Whether you like Trump or you don’t, whether you are a Democrat, Republican, or Independent, yesterday’s historic verdict should concern everyone for the future of the United States and the future of our democracy.
With July 4, 2024, just around the corner and as Americans prepare to celebrate the nation’s 248th anniversary of the birth of our democracy, liberty, and freedom, we must never forget, that there are only two things that bind us together as a democracy “The Rule of Law” and “Equal Justice Under the Law.”
Again whether you are a Republican, a Democrat, or an Independent we all know that our great nation has made past mistakes and we have always been able to right the wrong. But unfortunately yesterday, for years and decades to come, we may forever regret May 30, 2024’s verdict as the fall of our nation’s democracy, and the birth of a totalitarian country.
