Sunday, June 1, 2024, 3:30 P.M. ET. By Art Fletcher: Englebrook Independent News,

NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ.- A 24-year-old Kendall Park, New Jersey man was fatally shot late last night and his 24-year-old man was charged with his death in what authorities have determined to be a reckless accidental shooting.

According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone, on Saturday, June 1, 2024, just shortly after 10:30 p.m., members of the North Brunswick Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a gunshot victim at a residence on North Oaks Boulevard in North Brunswick.

Upon arrival, Police Officers found Mark Song, 24, of Kendall Park, New Jersey dead from an apparent gunshot wound. Mr. Song was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.

An initial investigation by Detective Errol McCalla of the North Brunswick Police Department and Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Jose Rosario quickly determined that Saad Salahie, 24, of Kendall Park, New Jersey was the individual who was responsible for the shooting death of Mr. Song. Detectives further determined that Salahie knew Mr. Song, and it appeared to be an accidental shooting.

Today, Sunday, June 2, 2024, Salahie was taken into custody without incident and formally charged with second-degree Reckless Manslaughter; and second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. Salahie was processed on the charges and his custody status was unavailable at this time.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective McCalla of the North Brunswick Police Department at (732) 247-0933 Ext. 311 or Detective Rosario of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at (732) 745-3289.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement, that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
