46-Year-Old Dumont Woman Charged With Aggravated Assault & Child Endangerment Offenses

DUMONT, NJ.- On Monday, a 46-year-old Dumont, New Jersey woman was jailed after she was taken into custody and charged with physically assaulting a child under the age of thirteen.

     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Monday, May 27, 2024, the Bergen County Special Victims Unit was contacted by members of the Dumont Police Department after receiving a report of an allegation that a Dumont woman had allegedly assaulted a child under the age of thirteen who was under her care. 

     Following a week-long investigation by members of the Bergen County Special Victims Unit and the Dumont Police Department, Detectives determined that Stacey A. Wilmarth, 46, of Dumont, New Jersey physically the child in Dumont, New Jersey.

     Accordingly, on Monday, June 3, 2024, Ms. Wilmarth was taken into custody at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and formally charged with second-degree Aggravated Assault; and second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

     Wilmarth was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.

“The rules of the court requires us to include a statement, that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.’
