55-Year-Old Franklin Township Woman Charged With Running Narcotics Distribution Network Out Of Her Home

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ.- Last Thursday, following an investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, a 55-year-old Franklin Township woman was taken into custody and charged in connection with running a narcotics distribution operation out of her Franklin Township home.

     According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, on Thursday, May 30, 2024, following the execution of a search warrant, Maria Santiago-Cossean, 55, of Franklin Township, New Jersey was taken into custody and charged with multiple first-degree, second-degree, and third-degree narcotics distribution and possession offenses. 

     After being processed on the charges Santiago-Cossean was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending future proceedings in Atlantic County Superior Court.

     The charges stem from an investigation by members of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Unit into a large-scale marijuana distribution network. 

     During the course of the investigation, on Thursday, May 30, 2024, a court-authorized search warrant was executed at the home of Santiago-Cossean. During the search, Detectives found 346 Pounds of Marijuana, 219 Pounds of THC Gummies, 8 Pounds of Psilocybin Mushrooms, 121 Pounds of THC Food Products, 70 Pounds of THC Candy, 90 Pounds of Vape Cartridges, and 97 Pounds of THC Resin. 

     Detectives also located packaging materials, including digital scales, heat sealers, vacuum sealers, and other packaging materials. Approximately $26,000 in cash was also seized. 

“The rules of the court requires us to include a statement, that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
