ABSECON, NJ.- According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, a grand jury sitting in Atlantic County, New Jersey returned an indictment against Everette Williams, 51, of Atlantic City, New Jersey on a charge of second-degree Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident Which Resulted in Death, and other related charges.

The indictment stems from an investigation that determined that Williams struck a pedestrian resulting in the death of a 17-year-old Galloway Township, New Jersey boy.

According to court documents, on February 17, 2024, at 9:23 p.m., J.J. a Galloway Township was killed on the White Horse Pike in Absecon, New Jersey, when he was struck by a Jeep Compass being driven by Williams.

A subsequent investigation revealed that Williams was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, and then shortly after the accident, abandoned the vehicle following removing vehicle identification numbers from the Jeep.

The investigation was conducted by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Fatal Crash Investigation Unit in conjunction with Detectives of the Absecon City Police Department.

“The rules of the court requires us to include a statement, that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
