3 Dead & 10 Wounded Including 2 Law Enforcement Officers In Fordyce Arkansas Mass Shooting Today

FORDYCE, AR.- Arkansas State Police have confirmed that three people were killed and 10 others were injured, including two police officers after gunfire erupted just around 11:30 a.m. Friday, at the Mad Butcher, a grocery store located at 920 West Fourth Street in the City of Fordyce, none of the wounded sustained life-threatening injuries.

     The unidentified shooter, who was critically injured after being shot by Police Officers has been taken into custody.

     Fordyce is a city of about 3200 people according to the 2020 census and is located about 70 miles south of the State Capital of Little Rock.

     Police did not immediately report if the shooting occurred inside or outside the store. Videos posted on social media at least one person lying on the ground in the parking lot, while another captured multiple gunshots being heard.

     Images from television reporters on the scene showed multiple bullet holes in the grocery store’s window. In video footage, local and state agencies could be seen arriving on scene, with a Medivac Helicopter landing near the grocery store.

     Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued a statement at 1:40 p.m., saying she had been briefed on the “tragic shooting.” 

     “I’m in constant contact with State Police on scene,” Gov. Huckabee said. “I am thankful to law enforcement and first responders for their quick and heroic action to save lives. My prayers are with the victims and those impacted by this horrific incident.”
