PATERSON, NJ.- Passaic County authorities are continuing their investigation into circumstances surrounding a shooting that occurred yesterday afternoon in the downtown section of Paterson, New Jersey, injuring two.

     According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, shortly after 4:00 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to a report of a shooting with injuries in the area of Broadway and Main Street in the City of Paterson.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found two victims, a 56-year-old Clifton, New Jersey woman, and a 35-year-old Paterson, New Jersey man both having sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The two were immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment. Their condition is unknown at this time.

     During the initial investigation, Police Officers found evidence of a shooting crime scene at that location.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing as Detectives continue their search for the suspect.
