21-Year-Old Paterson Man & 2 Teens Charged For The May 10, 2024, Jersey City Murder Of Resheed Wallace

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- On Thursday, a 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were taken into custody, and on Friday, a 21-year-old Paterson, New Jersey, man was taken into custody. All three have been charged in connection with the May 10, 2024, Friday night shooting death of Resheed Wallace that occurred in the Greenville section of Jersey City.
Makiyy Randolph, 21, of Paterson, New Jersey, is charged with first-degree Murder; Felony Murder; Robbery; Conspiracy to Commit Robbery; Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; Obstruction; and Resisting Arrest by Flight.
Randolph was taken into custody on Friday, July 12, 2024, on Gates Avenue in Jersey City after a brief foot pursuit by Hudson County Authorities. Randolph was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Hudson County Correction Facility pending future court proceedings in Hudson County Superior Court.
A 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were both charged with juvenile delinquency with Murder; Felony Murder; Robbery; Conspiracy to Commit Robbery; Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
Both teens were taken into custody on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus, New Jersey. Because the two are juveniles, there is no information available on their custody status.
The charges stem from an investigation that began on Friday, May 10, 2024, when, at approximately 10:00 p.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting shots being fired in the area of Pearsall and Garfield Avenues in Jersey City.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found Resheed Wallace, 24, of Jersey City, New Jersey, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound to his chest. Mr. Wallace was immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased at 10:25 p.m.
A subsequent autopsy performed by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to gunshot wound to the upper body and the manner of death to be homicide.
Following an intense and extensive investigation by the Hudson County Homicide Unit in conjunction with the Jersey City Police Department were able to identify the three as the individuals responsible for the shooting death of Mr. Wallace.
