Morris County Authorities Are Continuing The Investigation Into The Death Of An Infant Found In Parked Car

EAST HANOVER, NJ.- Detectives of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the East Hanover Police Department are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 6-month-old girl who was found dead inside a parked vehicle on Wednesday afternoon in an East Hanover parking lot.
According to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at around 1:30 p.m., members of the East Hanover Police Department responded to a parking lot near the intersection of Route 10 and South Ridgedale Avenue in East Hanover after receiving a 911 Emergency Call reporting an infant in distress, inside a parked vehicle.
Upon arrival, Police Officers and First Responders located a 6-month-old girl unresponsive inside a vehicle. Despite life-saving measures by paramedics, the child was tragically pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later. The child’s mother was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The initial investigation by responding Police Officers indicates that the child was left unattended inside the vehicle prior to the death. A final determination of the cause and manner of death is pending.
