The sentence stems from an investigation that began on October 19, 2021, when during the afternoon hours, members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a deceased woman at 131 Woodlawn Avenue in Jersey City.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found the body of Diamond Davila, 27, of Jersey City, Ms. Davila was pronounced deceased shortly after 3:00 p.m. that day. A subsequent autopsy performed by the Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to be Homicidal Violence and the manner of death to be Homicide.
A swift-moving investigation by Detectives of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office and the Jersey City Police Department were able to identify Baisden as the individual responsible for the death of Ms. Davila. Charges were filed, and a warrant was issued for Braisden’s arrest. He was able to avoid capture until he was located and apprehended two months later in a Monmouth County, New Jersey community.
