NORWOOD, NJ.- Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella reported that a 40-year-old Carrollton, Texas, man was taken into custody and charged in connection with Saturday’s armed home invasion and robbery of a family inside their home in Norwood, New Jersey.
According to authorities, on Saturday, July 27, 2024, shortly before 12:30 p.m., members of the Norwood Boro Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an armed home invasion robbery at a home located on Impatiens Way in the Boro of Norwood.
Upon arrival, Police Officers learned that two adults and their children were confronted by an armed and masked man who entered their garage. The man pointed a handgun at the family, announced a robbery, and threatened them. The family began to scream, scaring the masked man off, who then fled into a nearby wooded area.
A subsequent search by Police Officers of the surrounding wooded areas was able to locate the suspect, later identified as Jisun Park, 40, of Carrollton, Texas, and took him into custody without innocent.
A subsequent joint investigation by Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad and the Norwood Boro Police Department recovered items believed to be used in the home invasion, including a handgun that was later determined to be a pellet gun manufactured to look like a Glock 9mm handgun.
Accordingly, following being taken into custody, Park was formally charged with first-degree Armed Robbery; second-degree Armed Burglary; third-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; third-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and fourth-degree Aggravated Assault.
Park was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
