Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Is Asking For Help In Identifying A Man In July’s Sexual Assault Investigation

WEST NEW YORK, NJ.- Detectives of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying an individual wanted for questioning in connection with the sexual assault of a 40-year-old woman that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 27, 2024, in West New York, New Jersey.

     The victim, a 40-year-old woman, reported to police that around 1:30 a.m., she was approached by an unknown man in the area of Hudson Avenue and 51st Street in West New York. The woman then reported that the man grabbed her hair with force and then sexually assaulted her.

     During the continuing investigation, Detectives were able to obtain images of a potential person of interest. At the time of the sexual assault, the man is described as having worn a light-colored shirt with the words “Originals” on the front and back of the shirt, dark jeans, and black and white sneakers.

     The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and Detectives of the West New York Police Department are actively investigating the matter.
