Two Paterson Men Hospitalized In Saturday Late-Night Shooting Paterson Shooting

PATERSON, NJ.- A 26-year-old man, and a 23-year-old man, both from Paterson, New Jersey, find themselves becoming the third and fourth victims to fall prey to gunfire during a violent Saturday night in Paterson, New Jersey, leaving both men hospitalized.

     According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at around 11:58 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a shooting with injuries in the area of 21st Avenue and East 33rd Street in the City of Paterson.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 26-year-old Paterson, New Jersey man, suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The man was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.

     While on the scene investigating, Police Officers were advised by Medical Center staff that a 23-year-old Paterson, New Jersey, had arrived at the Medical Center seeking treatment for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

     During the initial investigation and following interviewing both men, Detectives determined that both men were shot in the area of 21st Avenue and East 33rd Street in the City of Paterson. Police Officers recovered shell casings at the shooting crime scene.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding what led up to the shooting.
