PITTSBURGH, PA.- On Thursday, August 8, 2024, a 59-year-old former Clinton, Pennsylvania man who was previously convicted and served a federal prison term of 121 months for possessing digital images of child pornography has been sentenced again to federal prison for possession of child pornography.

According to United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan, Rodrick T. Long, 59, formerly of Clinton, Pennsylvania, appeared in U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was sentenced by U.S. District Magistrate Judge J. Nicholas Ranjan to a term of 124 months in federal prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release.

Thursday’s sentence was pursuant to Long’s conviction for the Possession of Material Depicting the Sexual Exploitation of a Minor,

According to documents filed with the court on March 9, 2020, Long, who had previously served a 121-month federal sentence of incarceration for receiving material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor, was found to be in possession of more than 500 digital images and videos, and digital files depicting nude and or sexually explicit images of prepubescent and pubescent children, many of whom were not over the age of twelve.

The Pennsylvania State Police executed a court-authorized search warrant at Long’s home, where they uncovered the sexually explicit material saved on his laptop computer and cellular phone.

In imposing sentence, Judge Ranjan stated that the nature of Long’s offense, the harm and trauma caused to the child victims, and Long’s previous conviction for receiving sexually exploitative imagery of children warranted a significant term of imprisonment and a lifetime of supervised release.
