23-Year-Old Passaic Woman Charged With Stabbing Her Co-Worker In The Chest Saturday Night

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ.- On Sunday, August 11, 2024, a 23-year-old Passaic, New Jersey, woman was taken into custody and jailed after being formally charged with stabbing her co-worker in the chest following the two having an argument on Saturday night at a Hasbrouck Heights business.

     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at around 11:52 p.m., members of the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department responded to the Heights Bar & Grill located at 163 Boulevard in Hasbrouck Heights following receiving a 911 Emergency Call reporting an altercation involving a stabbing.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers and Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit learned that Juana Galvez Genaro, 23, of Passaic, New Jersey, an employee at the establishment, got into an argument with her co-worker. During the argument, Ms. Galvez Genero stabbed her co-worker in the chest. The stabbing victim was immediately transported to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

     As a result of a swift-moving overnight investigation, on Sunday, August 11, 2024, during the early morning hours, Galvez Genero was taken into custody and formally charged with second-degree Aggravated Assault; third-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

     Galvez Genero was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
