19-Year-Old Paterson Man Fatally Shot Early Wednesday Morning On A Paterson, New Jersey Street

PATERSON, NJ.- Gunfire erupted, claiming the life of a 19-year-old Paterson, New Jersey, man after he was gunned down early this morning near the intersection of Market Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard in the City of Paterson.

     Today’s shooting comes just days after the residents of Paterson experienced a violent weekend when gunfire rang out, leaving multiple people injured in three separate shootings within less than 8 hours throughout the city. In the neighboring City of Passaic, a 33-year-old man lost his life following being gunned down early Sunday morning.    

     According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, just minutes after 2:00 a.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter Activation near the intersection of Market Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard in the City of Paterson.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 19-year-old Paterson, New Jersey man lying on the sidewalk, unresponsive from a life-threatening gunshot wound.

     The man was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased upon arrival.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
