An Early Sunday Morning Paterson Car Crash Has Left 2 People Dead & 2 People In Hospitalized In Critical Condition

PATERSON, NJ.- Two people were tragically killed, and another two remain hospitalized after the vehicle they were riding in crashed into a utility pole on Route 20 near 18th Avenue in the City of Paterson, New Jersey.

     According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Sunday, August 18, 2024, just shortly after 4:00 a.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash with serious injuries in the area of Route 20 and 18th Avenue in the City of Paterson.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers and Emergency Medical Service Personnel found that a motor vehicle with four occupants had crashed into a utility pole.

Two Succumb To Injuries

     All four occupants of the vehicle were transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where, despite life-saving efforts by Doctors, two of the passengers succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased. The driver of the vehicle and a third passenger remain hospitalized and are listed in critical condition.

     The cause of the crash remains undetermined at this time. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
