39-Year-Old Paterson Man Was Shot Dead Early This Morning On A Paterson, New Jersey Street

PATERSON, NJ.- A 39-year-old Paterson man becomes the latest victim of senseless violence plaguing the streets of New Jersey cities after he was gunned down early Wednesday morning in the City of Paterson.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at around 1:37 a.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter activation for gunfire near the intersection of Madison and 14th Avenues in the City of Paterson.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 39-year-old Paterson, New Jersey man, lying face down on the ground, unresponsive from an apparent gunshot wound, despite life-saving efforts by responding Police Officers. The man succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives are continuing their search for the gunman.
