38-Year-Old Pittsburg, Pennsylvania Man Indicted On Federal Charge Of Narcotics Trafficking

PITTSBURGH, PA.- On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, a Federal Grand Jury for the Western District of Pennsylvania returned an indictment charging Eric Gerome Clancy, 38, of the East Hills section Of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for violating federal narcotics laws.
According to U.S. Attorney Eric G. Olshan, Clancy was indicted on a single count of Possessing with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine, Powder Cocaine, and a Mixture Containing Methamphetamine and Fentanyl.
Information Contained In The Indictment
Information contained in the indictment alleges on or about May 15, 2024, Clancy knowingly possessed with the intent to distribute a mixture of methamphetamine and fentanyl, crack cocaine, and powder cocaine.
On that date, members of the Mt. Lebanon Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on Clancy’s vehicle for traffic violations. During a subsequent search of his car, Police Officers found nine “bricks” containing a mixture of methamphetamine and fentanyl. Officers also found in the vehicle several ounces of crack and powder cocaine, a scale, and a large sum of cash on Clancy.
During the motor vehicle stop, Clancy was on federal supervised release following a 90-month sentence in federal prison for a narcotics and firearms conviction.
If convicted on the charge and based on the quantity of narcotics found and Clancy’s prior conviction, and that he was supervised release at the time of this crime, Clancy faces up to 20 years in federal prison and up to $1 million fine and or both.
The Mt. Lebanon Police Department and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration conducted the investigation, which resulted in Tuesday’s indictment.
