31-Year-Old Paterson Man Hospitalized After Being Struck By Gunfire Friday Night On A Paterson Street

PATERSON, NJ.- A 31-year-old Paterson, New Jersey man was hospitalized after being struck by gunfire late Friday night in the City of Paterson as Police continue their search for the suspect.

     According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Friday, August 23, 2024, just shortly after 11:00 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting gunfire near the intersection of Highland and Sparrow Streets in the City of Paterson.

Paterson Man Injured

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 31-year-old Paterson, New Jersey man, who had sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Paterson Emergency Medical Services immediately transported the man to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was admitted for treatment.

     During the initial investigation, responding Police Officers found evidence of a shooting crime scene and determined the man was shot in that area.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
