35-Year-Old Jersey City Man Sentenced To Prison For His Role In Large-Scale Multi-County Narcotics Network

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Last Wednesday, August 21, 2024, Dwight Drew, 35, of Jersey City, New Jersey, appeared in Hudson County Superior Court and was sentenced to prison for his part in a large-scale multi-county narcotics distribution operation.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Hudson County Superior Court Judge John Young sentenced Drew to 15 years in New Jersey State Prison on Wednesday.
Guilty Plea
Drew had previously entered guilty pleas to first-degree Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance; second-degree Certain Persons Not to Possess a Firearm; and second-degree Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Assault. Judge Young ordered that Drew be sentenced to 15 years on the narcotics offense, which will run concurrently with an eight-year sentence for the firearm offense and a seven-year sentence for the conspiracy offense.
Investigation Reveals
The charges and sentence stem from a 2020 narcotics investigation conducted by Detectives of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force, the Jersey City Police Department, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, and other law enforcement agencies into the distribution of narcotics in the Hudson County and Union County, New Jersey, areas.
