ARLINGTON, VA.- On Monday, Former President Trump visited Arlington National Cemetery to mark the third anniversary of the botched U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan that tragically claimed the lives of thirteen U.S. Soldiers just three years ago on August 26, 2021, by a suicide bomber at the Abbey gate of the Kabul International Airport, during the chaotic pullout.

During Monday morning’s ceremony, the Former President was joined by family members of some of the service members who were killed, along with others who were catastrophically injured during the bombing, and some U.S. House lawmakers for laying a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Trump slowly walked down the steps alongside family members to lay the wreath as Taps were heard throughout the ceremony. Trump then returned to the top of the stairs and proceeded down the stairs two more times to honor others.

President Biden, who is on vacation for a second week in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, after returning from last week’s holiday in California, and Vice President Kamala Harris, who is on the campaign trail, issued written statements on Monday, although their written statements most likely fell on deaf ears.

Family members of the thirteen soldiers who were killed during the pullout spoke on stage at July’s Republican National Convention, where they criticized Biden for lack of accountability. They said that Trump has shown more sympathy for their loss than Biden has ever displayed.

U.S. Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, announced on Monday that Congress will award the Congressional Gold Medal to the families of those killed during the August 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal.

No one has been held to account or fired for the chaotic withdrawal over the past three years. Instead, Biden has continued to blame the former President. One thing that should be noted is that not one U.S. Soldier was killed in Afghanistan during Trump’s last 18 months in office.
