40-Year-Old Phillipsburg Man Charged For Manufacturing Handgun With 3D Printer

PHILLIPSBURG, NJ.- Following an investigation, on Monday, August 26, 2024, a 40-year-old Phillipsburg, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged with multiple weapons offenses.
According to Acting Warren County Prosecutor Anthoney A. Picione, during the week of August 19, 2024, Warren County law enforcement received information that Michael Weaver, 40, of Phillipsburg, had manufactured a firearm utilizing a 3D printer.
Investigation
Following a swift-moving investigation, on Monday, Detectives of the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office and the Warren County Tactical Response Team executed a court-authorized search warrant at the Weaver’s Phillipsburg, New Jersey, residence.
During the search, Detectives recovered a manufactured 9mm handgun, two 3D printers, thousands of rounds of multi-caliber ammunition, and equipment used in the manufacturing of such ammunition. During the search, Weaver was taken into custody.
Charges Filed
Accordingly, on Monday, Weaver was formally charged with second-degree Manufacturing or Facilitating the Manufacture of a Firearm using a Three-Dimensional Printer; second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and second-degree Certain Persons Not to Possess Weapons or Ammunition.
Weaver was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Warren County Correctional Center pending future court proceedings in Warren County Superior Court in Belvidere, New Jersey.
