“The Passage Of Time” Has Finally Come To An End, As Harris & Walz Will Take Questions Tonight After 39 Days

WASHINGTON, DC.- After weeks of mounting pressure, Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz will sit with CNN for their first joint interview on Thursday night.

CNN’s chief political correspondent and news anchor, Dana Bash, will conduct the interview, which will air tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET. Tonight’s interview comes as Harris and Walz embark on a bus tour through the battleground state of Georgia and will mark the first time Vice President Harris has sat down with a journalist for a conversation on the record since President Joe Biden dropped his bid to seek a second term as president and endorses Harris.

Coming Under Criticism

Since her candidacy began 39 days ago, Harris has increasingly come under fire for not sitting down for a formal interview with the press to outline her policies if she were to become elected for the most powerful position in the world.

Over the past several weeks, she has only responded to shouted questions from reporters as she campaigned in battleground states. She only sat for three interviews with social media content creators and influencers during the Democratic National Convention last week in Chicago, Illinois. Her campaign believes many young voters get their news from social media rather than traditional news outlets.

Those interviews did little to quell the criticism she has faced. Recently, the Republican vice Presidential nominee, Ohio Senator JD Vance, has stepped up to criticize her for failing to sit down for a formal interview with a journalist. Vance and Trump have held numerous media interviews at the same time.

Vance, while in Wisconsin earlier this month, said, “I think it’s really disgraceful, both for Kamala Harris but also for a lot of the American media that participate in this stuff, to have a person who has been the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party for 17 days and refuses to take a single question from the American media.”

Since first assuming her role as vice president in January 2021, Harris has stumbled through most of her significant interviews with news media reporters and correspondents over the past three and a half years, making absolutely no sense at times when she responded to questions.

Following Biden’s withdrawal on July 21st, Harris has continued to distance herself from Biden’s failed policies. She has flip-flopped on policy decisions as vice president and her run for president in 2020, which she also dropped out of, and has seemed to copy many of former President Trump’s pledges he has made to voters.

It is doubtful that American voters will get answers to many of their questions during tonight’s interview. One question that needs to be answered is why, over the past three and a half years, she deceived the American public into thinking President Biden was mentally competent to hold the Office of the President of the United States.

During tonight’s interview, is Walz there to co-announce their policies, or will he bail her out if she stumbles as she answers Bash’s questions? One ironic thing is that just three months ago, Democrats and the media were hinting that Harris should be replaced as vice president in Biden’s campaign. Tonight’s interview is scheduled to be recorded this afternoon, so it will most likely be edited.
