45-Year-Old Spotswood Man Additionally Charged For Sexually Assaulting Two Additional Teens

SPOTSWOOD, NJ.- During an ongoing investigation, a 45-year-old Spotswood, New Jersey man who was charged late last week with sexually assaulting two juveniles has been additionally charged in connection with allegedly sexually assaulting two more juveniles under the age of eighteen after the victims came forward.
According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone, last Thursday, August 22, 2024, following an initial investigation by Detective John Fedak of the Spotswood Police Department and Detective Ryan Kirsh of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit. Raymond Remus, 45, was taken into custody for allegedly committing sex crimes against two juveniles.
Accordingly, after being taken into custody, Remus was formally charged with first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; second-degree Sexual Assault; and second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child by engaging in sexual conduct, relating to the original two juvenile victims.
During the ongoing investigation, two additional juveniles under the age of eighteen came forward and reported that they were sexually abused by Remus.
Additional Charges Filed
Accordingly, based on the allegations and following interviews with the juveniles, Detective Fedak and Detective Kirsh additionally charged Remus with two counts of second-degree Sexual Assault; and two counts of third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Remus was served with the charges at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center, where he is detained on the original charges.
Remus had faced similar charges five years ago when, in August of 2019, a Jackson County, Georgia, grand jury returned a five-count indictment against Remus, charging him with Aggravated Child Molestation; and Aggravated Sodomy.
   According to a report from the Athens Banner-Herald, the indictment alleged that Remus, during the period from August 29, 2016, to September 28, 2018, committed sexual acts on a boy who was less than ten years old. The indictment was later dismissed following evidentiary issues with witness testimony.
