Detectives Are Actively Investigation Tuesday Night’s Apparent Accidental Drowning Of A 4-Year-Old Child

MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ.- Middlesex County authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the accidental drowning death of a 4-year-old child, who was found in a pond after the child wandered off the deck of a Monroe Township, New Jersey home early Tuesday evening.
According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone, on Wednesday, August 27, 2024, shortly before 7:00 p.m., members of the Monroe Township Police Department responded to a Monroe Township residence after receiving a 911 Emergency Call reporting a missing child.
Upon arrival, Police Officers learned that a 4-year-old child was missing. They searched the immediate area and located the child in a pond just 50 yards from the residence’s deck. Police Officers pulled the child from the pond and immediately performed CPR on the child, who was transported to Princeton Medical Center, where the child was pronounced deceased.

Middlesex County Prosecutor Ciccone and Monroe Township Police Chief Banos expressed their deep sorrow following the drowning of this 4-year-old child. “Our hearts are heavy with sorrow as we mourn this tragic loss. We extend our deepest condolences to the family during this incredibly difficult time.”
