18-Year-Old Sayreville Man Charged For The August 20, 2024, Sayreville Shooting Death

SAYREVILLE, NJ.- Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone reported an 18-year-old Sayreville, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with the shooting death of a man that occurred on August 20, 2024, in the Borough of Sayreville.
The charges stem from an investigation that began on August 20, 2024, when shortly before 10:00 p.m., members of the Sayreville Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a shooting on Swider Drive in the Borough.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found Jeremiah Brown, 22, of Sayreville, New Jersey, lying on the ground, unresponsive from an apparent gunshot wound. Mr. Brown was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.
A swift-moving investigation led by Detective Michael Pirigyi of the Sayreville Police Department and Detective Michelle Coppola of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office was able to identify Daniel Adediran, 18, of Sayreville as the shooter, and the individual responsible for the death of Mr. Brown.
Further investigation determined that Adediran and Brown were known to one another, and it appears to be a targeted shooting.
Charges Filed
Accordingly, on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, Adediran was taken into custody and formally charged with one count of first-degree Murder; second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
Adediran was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending future court proceedings in Middlesex County Superior Court in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
