Detectives Take Down Major Cocaine Distributor On Thursday

MORRISTOWN, NJ.- On Thursday, following an investigation into cocaine distribution throughout the Morris County, New Jersey area, specifically in Morristown, New Jersey, Alex Bravo-Castro was taken into custody and charged with multiple narcotics distribution offenses.

Narcotics Charges Filed

      According to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, on Thursday, August 29, 2024, Bravo-Castro was taken into custody on a complaint warrant and formally charged with one count of first-degree Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine; one count of first-degree Distribution of Cocaine; one count of second-degree Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine; and one count of third-degree Possession of Cocaine.

Cocaine Seized

     The charges stem from an investigation when, on Thursday, Bravo-Castro allegedly distributed just around 350 grams of suspected cocaine in Morristown, New Jersey, with an approximate street value of $27,000.

     In a statement, Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll thanks the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Special Enforcement Unit, Roxbury Police Department, the Town of Boonton Police Department, Morristown Police Department, and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, which worked jointly on this investigation.

     Prosecutor Carroll said, “The consequences of illicit drug use are widespread, causing permanent physical and emotional damages to users and negatively impacting their families, coworkers, and many others with who they have contact. Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and its Narcotics Task Force partners will continue to combat the impact of drugs on society through enforcement efforts targeting for-profit drug dealers.”

     Following being processed on the charges, Bravo-Castro was remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings in Morris County Superior Court in Morristown, New Jersey.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
