Hunter Biden’s Drug Addiction Will Return To The Spotlight Tomorrow, As Tax Evasion Trial Begins

LOS ANGELES, CA.- The second criminal trial of President Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, is set to begin Thursday morning in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles. The President’s son will face trial for failing to pay over a million dollars in federal taxes.

Hunter Biden has been accused of withholding $1.4 million between 2016 and 2018 while he was in the grips of a crack cocaine addiction. In December 2023, a Federal Grand Jury returned a nine-count indictment against the President’s son, charging Hunter with 3 felony counts and 6 misdemeanor accounts of tax evasion charges.

The start of tomorrow’s trial will be the second time the embattled President’s son has faced criminal charges. In June, a jury in U.S. District Court in Wilmington, Delaware, convicted Hunter of federal felony firearms offenses for lying about his drug use on a federal gun purchaser form. That trial marked the first time a child of a sitting president was convicted.

Hunter’s Illicit Drug Use

Biden’s defense team will claim that his illicit drug use played a significant role in why he failed to file and pay his taxes as it did in the first trial. The details of Biden’s lavish lifestyle during his addiction will surely provide jurors with information about the President’s son. At the same time, he was shacked up with prostitutes in a California hotel suite.

Hunter’s Foreign Business Dealings

The trial could also spotlight Hunter’s foreign business dealings, in which he was paid for work in which he had no experience. Republicans have been investigating both Hunter and the President over the past three years, accusing both of corruption for enriching the Biden family with millions of dollars.

Prosecutors have asked the judge to allow them to present evidence to jurors about Hunter’s spending habits, including spending tens of thousands of dollars on strippers, porn websites, and crack cocaine.

Celebrity lawyer Mark Geragos, leading Biden’s defense in this case, said during a hearing last month. “They want to slime him because that is the whole purpose.”

No matter what comes to light in the testimony from both the prosecution and defense witnesses, tomorrow’s trial may finally expose some of what Republicans have accused the Bidens of.

The potential political ramifications of a trial just two months before a presidential election may have diminished after President Biden dropped out of his bid to seek a second presidential term.
