Federal Grand Jury Returned An Indictment Against Tennessee Man On Narcotics Distribution

CHARLESTON, W.VA.- On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, a Federal Grand Jury for the Northern District of West Virginia returned an indictment against Kenneth Ray Frye, 51, of Kingsport, Tennessee, on multiple federal narcotics violations.

     According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon Flower, who presented the federal charges before the grand jury. In the indictment, Frye is charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute 50 Grams or More of Methamphetamine; Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine; and Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl.

     Documents filed in the indictment, it has been alleged that Frye fled from an attempted motor vehicle traffic stop in Fairmont, West Virginia. After a short pursuit, Frye was arrested. During the arrest procedure, Frye was found to be in possession of a large amount of methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl.

Potential Prison Sentence

     When sentenced at a date to be determined by the court, Frye faces a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life in federal prison on the methamphetamine charge and up to 20 years in prison on each of the other two charges. 

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
