Fayetteville Man Pleads Guilty To Possession With Intent To Distribute Fentanyl & Methamphetamine

CHARLESTON, W.VA.- U.S. Attorney Will Thompson reported that on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, Jeff Allen Adkins, 66, Fayetteville, West Virginia, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and pleaded guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine and Fentanyl.

     According to documents filed with the court, on May 8, 2022, Adkins was a passenger in a motor vehicle that was pulled over by Police Officers in Oak Hill. A subsequent search of the vehicle by Police Officers located approximately 116 grams of fentanyl and 112 grams of methamphetamine.

     During questioning, Adkins admitted to possessing the narcotics and intended to distribute them.

     Following entering his guilty plea on the record, U.S. District Court Judge Thomas E. Johnston accepted Adkins’ guilty plea and scheduled sentencing for January 13, 2025. At the time of sentencing, Adkins faces a maximum of 20 years in federal prison, followed by at least three years of supervised release and a $1 million fine.
