2 Morgantown Residents & 1 Elkins Resident Plead Guilty In Drug Trafficking Operation

CLARKSBURG, W.VA.- Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley reported that on Friday, September 6, 2024, three West Virginia residents appeared in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and admitted guilty for their roles in a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy in northern West Virginia.
Joshua Noel, 42, of Elkins, West Virginia, Jennifer Clapper, 37, of Morgantown, West Virginia, and Jamie Purtee, 33, of Morgantown, West Virginia, appeared before U.S. District Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi, and each pleaded guilty to Methamphetamine charges.
According to documents filed with the court, Noel, Clapper, and Purtee conspired to and distributed methamphetamine throughout the Monongalia County, West Virginia area.
After entering their guilty pleas on the court record, Judge Aloi accepted their guilty pleas and scheduled sentencing on a date determined by the court.
All three face up to 20 years in federal prison when sentenced. Magistrate Judge Aloi will determine the sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and mitigating and aggravating factors.
