Ohio Man Pleads Guilty To Federal Narcotics Offenses

HUNTINGTON, W.VA.- On Monday, September 9, 2024, Adrian Horton, also known as “Big Guy” and “Fat Boy,” 23, of Toledo, Ohio, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Robert C. Chambers in connection with an investigation into narcotics distribution in the Huntington, West Virginia area.
Yesterday, Horton entered guilty pleas in U.S. District Court to Possession with Intent to Distribute 40 or More Grams of Fentanyl; and Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine.
During the hearing, Judge Chambers accepted Horton’s guilty pleas and scheduled sentencing for December 16, 2024. At that time, Horton faces a mandatory minimum of 5 years and up to 40 years in federal prison, followed by at least four years of supervised release and a $5 million fine.
According To Documents Filed With Court
According to U.S. Attorney Will Thompson and documents filed with the court on March 28, 2022, law enforcement officers, following a narcotics investigation, executed a court-authorized search warrant at a Monroe Avenue residence in Huntington, where Horton was staying. During the search, investigators located and recovered over 40 grams of fentanyl and a quantity of crack cocaine.
Horton later admitted that he possessed the controlled substances and intended to distribute them, and used the Huntington, West Virginia residence to distribute various controlled dangerous substances.
U.S. Attorney Thompson commended the investigative work of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Huntington Police Department.
