JEFFERSON CITY, MO.- On Tuesday, a 36-year-old Jefferson City, Missouri, man was sentenced to federal prison for posting images of himself on Facebook possessing illegal firearms as a convicted felon and bragging about shooting incidents.

On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, Shaune Aaron Price, 36, of Columbia, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Brian C. Wilmes to 10 years and 10 months in federal prison.

Price had previously appeared in U.S. District Court on November 7, 2023, and pleaded guilty to two counts of Being a Convicted Felon in Possession of Firearms.

According to documents filed with the court, on March 23, 2022, a Detective with the Jefferson City, Missouri, Police Department recognized Price and confirmed that he had an active warrant for his arrest. Subsequently, Police Officers stopped the bus that Price was riding in and immediately arrested him. During the arrest, Price had a tan duffle bag, and a search of the bag uncovered a loaded Glock 9mm semi-automatic handgun.

The ATF Ballistics Information Network conducted an analysis that tied the handgun to three separate incidents, including a shooting outside Gold Bar, located in downtown Columbia, on November 6, 2021, and a domestic assault on January 1, 2022.

Detectives also found a video on Price’s cell phone that revealed him holding a Glock .40 caliber handgun on May 31, 2021. According to evidence, Price’s cell phone and Facebook records contained digital images of Price holding at least 11 different firearms.
