Monmouth County Authorities Are Continuing The Investigation Into Monday’s Fatal Collision

MARLBORO TOWNSHIP, NJ.- On Thursday, September 12, 2024, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago reported that Detectives are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Monday morning’s fatal collision that claimed the life of a 74-year-old bicyclist when he was struck by a motor vehicle.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, on Monday, September 9, 2024, just shortly before 9:45 a.m., members of the Marlboro Township Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting that a bicyclist was struck by a motor vehicle on School Road East near the Buckley Road intersection in the Township.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 74-year-old man suffering from life-threatening injuries. The man was immediately transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where, despite life-saving efforts by doctors, the man tragically succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased on Tuesday.
Monmouth County authorities have not released the name of the 74-year-old man.
Initial Investigation Reveals
The initial investigation determined that the man was attempting to cross School Road East from the Henry Hudson Trail on an Electric Bicycle when he was struck by a motor vehicle.
