Beckley Man Sentenced To Federal Prison For Narcotics Crime

BECKLEY, W.VA.- On Friday, September 13, 2024, Davon Jamir Linder, 24, of Beckley, West Virginia, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by U.S. Chief District Judge Frank W. Volk to 68 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release, for the Distribution of Methamphetamine.

     According to documents filed with the court, on February 27, 2023, Linder sold a controlled dangerous substance that contained methamphetamine to a confidential informant in Beckley, West Virginia. 

Search Warrant

     Following the sale to the confidential informant, Investigators executed a court-authorized search warrant on Linder’s home. During the search, Investigators found 800 grams of methamphetamine. Investigators further learned that Linder was on parole supervision when he sold the methamphetamine to the confidential informant.

     U.S. Attorney Will Thompson commended the investigative efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Beckley/Raleigh County Drug and Violent Crime Unit.
